Fotobabble allows you to add audio to a picture you have taken or found on the web. By clicking here you can check out the fotobabble site. It is free to create an account.
You can view a Fotobabble I created myself by clicking the image below.

Uses in the Classroom:
Fotobabble would be a fun tool for students to use in the classroom. Students can use this website to demonstrate their knowledge of a certain topic. One way is to simply remember information and recall facts about a topic. For example, students could post a picture of a flower and be able to recall the parts of the flower. Students can also use this tool to make inferences or interpret a photo. This could be done with just about any picture. If using Fotobabble to make inferences, consider asking questions such as:
  • What happened or what is happening? How do you know?
  • How is this person feeling? What makes you think so?
  • What is going to happen? What makes you think so?
Fotobabble allows teachers to address the lower levels of Bloom's Taxonomy (remembering and understanding).
Considerations:
There are some things to consider, however, when using Fotobabble. If students are choosing their own picture, teachers should make sure it is school appropriate and not copyrighted. Also, teachers may want to preview students' audio before they share it with the entire class. This will ensure school appropriate language within the audio.
